Meditate in Mainz
This year is the first for several years that the World Community's principal annual event, the John Main Seminar, will be held in Europe. It is in Mainz, on the Rhine, a short train journey from Frankfurt airport, from 15th to 17th August. Mariya Plotzki, German national coordinator, has written to say how welcome UK meditators will be in Mainz, which she says is a fine city with a lot of history. For those with more time available, there is a monastic tour in the region to precede the Seminar, and a post Seminar silent retreat at the Cistercian Abbey of Himmerod, in beautiful countryside near the French border.
 
The team of  Seminar speakers is led by Cardinal Walter Kasper. Proceedings will be mostly in German, but with simultaneous translation provided. Full details of the programme and registration information can be found on a dedicated web site www.jms2008.de
